| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to explore the change of dweller's consciousness of community with the progress of "Kaso" (too-thinly-peopled) phenomenon from aspects of the formal co-operative works. The data used in this research are based on the raw materials which we got by means of unstructured interview method in five villages (Okura-mura, Kami-mura, Tomiyama-mura, Ton-bara-cho, and Mizukami-mura) from '70 to '71. Ten kinds of comments on the formal co-operative works (community meeting, repairs of road and river, funeral services, company of firemen, festivals as the year's regular functions, young men's association, ladies' society, snow-shovelling of the public buildings, administering the public properties, and other kinds of formal co-operative works) were picked up from the raw materials, and each of them were categorized by four aspects (number of times or date, methods or contents, attitudes or opinions, and comparisons of the present and the past). Founded on the tables of comments gained, we described conditions of the changes, separating by the communities and kind of the works. The main results of analysis are as follows : 1) There are significant changes of all kinds of formal co-operative works with the only exception of funeral services, in regard to both forms and consciousness compared with the past. That is, they seem to be decreased and reduced, or simplified and inactivated, concerning the number of times, scale, and contents. 2) Though people are aware of these changes of their consciousness of communities, they look upon that it is the current of the time, and there is no help for it. 3) "One's own convenience" acts as the starting-point of his behavior, and his way of thinking has become egoistic. The background of this phenomenon depends upon an aim of cash-gaining. 4) The phenomenon of drift of youths to the cities endangers keeping up the community, and gives impetus to the diluteness of consciousneess of community of adults in the rural communities. 5) The fact that the major source of income has shifted to others than those which depended on agriculture is one of the strongest background factors regarding the change of consciousness of community. | |||||
