Three dimensional filming technique was applied to analysis of jumping in figure skating, Three junior female figure skaters performed single Axel jump and their movement were filmed by two 16mm high speed camera whose shutter were synchronized at 100 fps. Direct linear transformation method was used to reconstruct three dimensional coordinates of object space from film image. The result from kinematic analysis indicated that axis of rotation during flight was not exactly vertical and slightly inclined. One and a half rotations of the single Axel jump was not completed within a flight time and the remaining part performed before take off and after landing on the ice. Force acting on the center of gravity of the skater's body (C.G.) showed that all the skaters used counter movement before take off. The result of analysis of power at C.G. suggested that power exerted during take off movement was limited in a jump with twist movement of body such as Axel jump. |
