In order to assess to what extent students have the beliefs of the links, a questionnaire consisting of 24 items was made which combine six kinds of extrinsic motivation with two kinds of intrinsic motivation, also include both positive (increasing) and negative (decreasing) aspects of motivation. Subjects were 323 junior and 372 senior high school students all over six grades. In addition to the scale for the individual beliefs of the links, the scales measuring achievement goal tendencies and self-regulated learning strategies were administered to them.
