グスク期（中世）から近世にかけて国際貿易港として栄えた那覇港に接する商業の中心地と考えられる遺跡である．2014年度に沖縄県立埋蔵文化財センターによって発掘調査が行われ，中国産・タイ産・国内産等のさまざまな陶磁器類と共に，多量の動物遺体が出土した．この調査内容は2017年に発掘報告書として刊行されたが（沖縄県立埋蔵文化財センター，2017），動物遺体についてはごく一部が分類・報告されたのみであった．出土した動物遺体の多くを占めているのはイノシシ類（イノシシあるいはブタ）である．沖縄地域においては，イノシシ類は古い時代から人々にさかんに利用されてきた重要な動物であり，これらを多食する独特の食文化が形成されてきた．この形成過程の中でも現代の食文化に直接つながるグスク期～近世の状況を明らかにするためには，当該時期の遺跡においてイノシシ類のまとまった量が同一地点で出土し， かつその出土内容が定量的に報告されている資料群が必要である． こういった資料群としては，今帰仁城のもの（金子，1991）や平安山原A遺跡のもの（樋泉，2016）などがあげられるが， その数はまだ少なく，当該時期の様相を復元するには十分ではない．このような状況下で，当遺跡の資料は保存状態が良好で量的にまとまったグスク期～近世の優れた資料群と考えられる．そこで，本論ではこのイノシシ類について出土した全資料を分類し，その内容を明らかにしたい．", "subitem_description_language": "ja", "subitem_description_type":
