In this method, concrete was modeled by rigid particles using a voronoi mesh with random geometry and rebar was modeled by beam element connected to concrete through a link element that was assigned a suitable local bond model. The proposed model enables to evaluate changes in internal cracking and stress distribution due to variation in cover thickness and rebar diameter. Furthermore, it can simulate the bond stress slip behavior and transition of failure modes.
