"中部森林管理局木曽森林管理署管内助六実験林で実施されている，70%漸伐と薬剤によるササ抑制を組み合わせた事業規模での木曽ヒノキ天然更新実証試験において，良好な更新状態が2018年に確認された。1999年から継続されている更新状況の調査結果を分析したところ，更新の阻害要因であるササは，下種伐の削後に加え1998年以降に4回実施した薬剤散布により，調査期間を通じて抑制されていた。発生・定着した多数のヒノキ稚樹は良好な樹高成長を示し，平均的なササ群落高を超える苗長100cm以上の個体は2010年から出現していた。これらから，漸伐とササ抑制の組み合わせは，木曽ヒノキの天然更新に有効であることが実証されたと考える。",
