The responses of Xi/Xc6H6, which is the mole fraction ratio of the species i to benzene, to the change of the oxygen concentration are also examined to elucidate PAHs formation mechanism. In the naphthalene (2 rings) formation process, H-abstraction-C2H2-addition (HACA) mechanism would be more dominant than Marinov\u0027s model, in which the combination of 5-membered ring radicals contributes to PAHs formation.
