Peer relationships are especially important for adolescence. The present article reviews the feature of peer relationships in adolescence and point out importance of peer relationships. Adolescent girls’relationships seem to be characterized by greater levels of intimacy, emotional support, and self-disclosure, whereas tendency for boys to socialize within larger peer groups may lead them to value status and the achievement of dominance respect. Some studies suggested that girls have more friendship stressors. In addition, girls are more vulnerable to depressive reactions than boys. And this article also reviews the studies investigated peer relationship stress, depression, and another factors for Junior high school students in Japan. 内容記述 Much of the research revealed that interpersonal relationships have strong association with depression in adolescence. Peer relationships are especially important for adolescence. The present article reviews the feature of peer relationships in adolescence and point out importance of peer relationships. For adolescents, there are some meanings to have close friends.
