| 内容記述 | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the factors that influence the annual income of private university employees in Japan (professors, associate professors, lecturers and officers). It has been alleged that wages of university employees are independent of the revenue of their employers. However, this has not been regorously tested using the data. The bargaining model constructed in this paper shows that the teacher's wages increase according to tuition fees, the level of difficulty on the entrance examination, and the number of students per teacher. However, wages decrease when the university is located in large cities. The I test the implications of the model using university level data on teachers' wages. It is found that the estimation results support the implication of the bargaining model. | |||||
