Seven families, consisting of father, mother and the first child less than 5 months old, participated in a play situation. The Emotional Availability of parents and the emotional response of infants were rated using the Emotional Availability Scale. The results showed that; (a) the mothers\u0027 sensitivity was higher than the fathers\u0027 sensitivity; (b) that there was a relationship between the parents\u0027 Emotional Availability and the emotional response of infants; (c) with increasing age of the infants, the mothers\u0027 sensitivity increased.
