内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to examine how the two experiences of “exercise/sports activities” and “study” from childhood to university graduation relate to the lives and stress of working adults. A web-based questionnaire survey was conducted on 1,872 regularly employed college-educated adults (equal numbers of men and women) between the ages of 22 and 49 to learn about their living conditions, including the various types of stress they experience from their work load. In the questionnaire, the respondents were also asked about their “most intense study period” and “most intense exercise period” out of the six time-segments from childhood to university graduation. The results of logistic regression analysis with each item on work life evaluation and work stress as the dependent variable showed that those who studied the most or exercised the most in the high school period tended to have a positive working life, such as “Good relationship building in the workplace.” On the other hand, those who studied most intensely in early elementary school and preschool tended to evaluate their working lives negatively, such as “Not having a good boss at work.” The results of this study suggest that, in addition to exercise and sports activities across childhood and adolescence, diligent study efforts during high school are also important for the formation and development of SOC (sence of coherence) that leads to positive adaptability to working life. | |||||||||||||
