The training was full-time, and the duration was 12 months for craft skills training and further 6 months for \u0027advanced\u0027 course where instructional skills were taught. After scrutinizing the admission requirements and training syllabi, the author characterizes the former as the training for \u0027foreman-instructor\u0027 and the latter as \u0027professional\u0027 instructor. Apart from the period, breadth and depth of training, these two institutions bear a close resemblance to the two courses at the IVT. One of the major differences is that the latter qualifies the trainees as licenced instructors while in the former no official qualification was attached to the trainees after completion.
