The processes of their tacling are, on the one hand, differ individually, but on the other hand, common to some extent. It may be said that the processes are promoted only by the actual experience of tacling and the therapists, stage by stage, overcome several foundamental developmental tasks. In this article, we tried to clarify especially the early developmental tasks of therapists, and examined the process of overcoming the tasks. The early developmental tasks that we extracted are the follows; 1) confrontation with themselves who have unintimate or averse feelings instinctively toward handicapped children. 2) confrontation with what they are who cannot get contact with them as they expected or imaged. 3) awareness that they are not at appropreate psychological distance from them, and confrontation with their actual manners of relationship as such. 4) confrontation with themselves who cannot develop handicapped children as they expected and are impotent as supporters.", "subitem_description_language": "en",
