| 内容記述 | This brief paper presents preliminary results of the excavation of the Scructura-5 at San Andrés, El Salvador from the 2016 excavation season. San Andrés was the dominant political center in the Valley of Zapotitán during the Lace Classic period (AD 600-900). The Scructure-5, locally well-known as "La Campana" ("bell-shaped" in Spanish)" is the largest monumental architecture at the site. The excavation aimed to determine the construction sequence of the Scructure-5 and verify the existence of a twin staircase of the platform, which was proposed by Christopher Begley and his colleagues. Although the excavation has not yet proved the twin staircase hypothesis, the lase excavation season provided new detailed information about the construction sequence, such as masonry structure that had not been reported in the region. | |||||
