内容記述 There has been widespread speculation about the broad economic, environmental, political and humanitarian impacts of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). While most studies forecast the direct economic impacts of the completed infrastructure initiative, the indirect economic and environmental impacts from the mere construction of the BRI have been overlooked. This study makes an important contribution to the literature by estimating the indirect economic and environmental impacts arising from the promotion of the BRI. The main findings can be summarised as follows: the BRI will have positive economic impacts for iron ore exporting countries. The magnitude and distribution of these positive indirect economic benefits is influenced by China's steel production trade relations, supply capacity, economic growth and stimulus policies.
