内容記述 | In this paper, the collection of charged particles on a probe immersed in plasma is investigated experimentally and theroetically. The depletion of charged particle is characteristic in high pressure plasma in which the mean free path of charged particles is small compared to the probe radius. The mechanism responsible for the depletion is that the density in the vicinity of the probe is decreased by virtue of scattering, according to a simple theory. However, to obtain a reasonable explanation for the observed depletion, a consideration of another process leading to an additional depletion is needed in addition to the simple theory. The former process is the formation of a disturbed region, which has been discussed extensively in an earlier paper. The existence of a space charge sheath results in a reduction of the depletion. | |||||
