After reviewing briefly some new growth models in the era of after-Fordism, we look back upon the “régulationnistes” visions on this era : national trajectories, shot term flexibility, and finance-led growth regime.  We also examine the methodology of this theory and enlarge it by making a point of the importance of institutional hierarchy and its historical variability.  On these basic reflections, we explain today’s globalization as a self-escalating movement of the finance-led growth regime established in the United-States from the 1990’s.  To understand this regime more precisely, we show its macro-economic mechanism and  “régulation” more compared with the Fordist ones.  To conclude the paper, we point out the consequences of globalization as the dominance of short term flexibility, the increasing economic instability and the various social segmentations.
